I read this article the other day titled ‘What about that human touch?’ Elderly will be cared for by ROBOTS to solve staff shortage and thought this: Would I want this thing taking care of my hygiene? Maybe they will be like dogs where we can get attached to them because they are always happy. Then again, what if I also had a dog? Will dogs get along with robots? When we as people are weak and vulnerable, what is our priority, someone who can address our activities of daily need, or someone who will love us? Maybe robots are better than caregivers, especially those with attitudes. We won’t have to deal with the horror stories that we are about from time to time…unless the robots start having sinister-like brains and can run around super-fast.
